He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Ward, and Russell Ward, Sr.; his sister Beverly Vaughan; and his mother-in-law Barbara Greene. He is survived by: his wife Francine Ward; his children, Rodric Ward (LaCoya), Russell Ward III (Rachel) and Chelsea Ward (Amy); his granddaughter Remi Ward; his siblings-in-law, Angela Greene, Cheryl Carter (Jerald), Barry and George Greene; his nephew Jamar Greene; his niece Tameka Vaughan Dorsey; his great-nieces, Cydni and Chloe Dorsey; and his cousin Angela King Pugh. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Monaghan Funeral Home (7300 Creighton Pkwy, Mechanicsville, VA 23111). A memorial service was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Monaghan Funeral Home Chapel (7300 Creighton Pkwy, Mechanicsville, VA 23111).
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
