Gaines; his siblings, Anthony Gaines (Gerri) and Shirley Mitchell (Leonard); his children, Russell Gaines Jr., Myrtle Henderson (Lenny), Kim Gaines (Stephen), Helen Gaines, Edward Smith (Shane), Jarvis Washington, Rushell Gaines (Christina), Diamond Gibson and Dy'Asia Gibson; and his grandchildren, Christiena, James, Kennesha, Mia, Candice, Dreyahna, Jai'lynn, Doneisha and Latesha.
His dedication to brotherhood, charity, and integrity reflected his deep commitment to serving others.
