She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Jasper Peyton and Sarah Peyton Jr.; her husband Earnest Abernathy; her sons, Arke Abernathy and Chaka Abernathy; her son-in-law Armistead Easley Sr.; her uncles, Melvin and Albert Peyton; and her aunt Hazel Peyton.
She is survived by: her children, Angela Easley, Trinette Moseley, Ronaldo Moseley and Earnest Abernathy. She is also survived by grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren, a host of aunts, cousins, other family members, and other children who looked to her as a mother/grandmother.
