He was predeceased by: his wife Lillian C. Bowles; and his parents, Wallace Lee and Bertha Elizabeth Smith. He is survived by: his sons, James Douglas Bowles, Sr. (Tammy) and Michael Wallace Bowles, Sr.; and his grandchildren, Tara Payne (Alex), Shannon Martin (John), Michael Wallace Bowles, Jr., James Douglas Bowles, Jr., Brandon Bowles, Jacob Bowles and Savannah Martin.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Nelsen Funeral Home (4650 S Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Washington Memorial Park (6217 Memorial Dr, Sandston, VA 23150).
