He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Read and Evelyn Read (Hicks); and his wife Diana Read (Steeves) of Gunningsville. He is survived by: his children, Karen Siwik (Rick) of Burlington, Stephen Read (Michele) of Richmond, Virginia and Eleanor Wilton (Dan) of Fredericton; his grandchildren, Laura (Eric), Jayne (Michael), Grace, Heath (Jane), Hannah (Charlie), Taylor (Catherine), Jon (Alyse), Jessica (Sam) and Jana (Jansen); and his brother Gordon Read (Marlene) of Port Coquitlam, BC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Brunswick Street Baptist Church, Green Hill Lake Camp, or Crandall University.
