It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patricia Ballard Larus of Richmond, Virginia, who passed away on April 18, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Guthrie Emuel Ballard. She is survived by: her mother Alma Spivey Ballard; her husband Charles Dunning Larus IV of Richmond, VA; her daughters, Elizabeth "Betsy" Miles (David) of Richmond, VA and Jenny Larus of Richmond, VA; her granddaughters, Katy Barnes of Richmond, VA., Renee Miles of Richmond, VA., Jasmine Miles of Richmond, VA. and Megan Clements of Richmond, VA.; her great grandchild Ophelia Miles-Darden of Richmond, VA; her brother Emuel Ballard (Patsy) of Franklin, VA; her friend Phyllis Joyner of Norfolk, VA; and her pet Lulu. She is also survived by her children's friends who knew her as a second mother.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home (3215 Cutshaw Ave, Richmond, VA 23230). A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, and in celebration of Pat's love for thrifting and dogs, the family invites you to honor her memory with a donation to Furbish Thrift, which supports local animal rescue efforts.
