He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles M. Bankert and Theresa A. Bankert; and his siblings, Charles Jr., Miriam, Robert, Jean, Rita and Marjorie.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Seay Bankert; his children, George Jr., Michael (Norma), Ronnie (Kim) and Wanda Bankert Haskins (Terry); and his sister Carolyn (Thurman). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bliley's Funeral Home (6900 Hull St Rd, Richmond, VA 23224). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
