He is survived by: his wife Jacquelyn "Lyn" Cooke; his brother Robert "Bobby" Cooke (Betty) of Cody, Wyoming; his children, Kimberly Jarrelle (Jason "J. R."), John (Joanne "Jomi") and David Cooke (Sydney); his nephews, Christopher "Chris" Angelini (Jenn Hager) and Michael "Mike" Angelini (Brenda); and his grandchildren, Levin "L. J." White Jr., Taylor White, Rachel Hager, Bryce Hager, William Angelini, Madison Jarrelle, Olivia Cooke, David "Little David" Cooke Jr., Henry Cooke and Posie Jacquelyn Cooke.
A memorial service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Bliley's Funeral Home (3801 Augusta Ave, Richmond, VA 23230). A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery (1400 S Randolph St, Richmond, VA 23220).
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation be made in Sergeant Major Douglas Cooke's name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
