He was predeceased by: his parents, James Stuart Campbell, Sr. and Rosalie Judy Campbell. He is survived by: his wife Ann Groseclose Campbell; his children, Stuart Preston Campbell of Smithfield, VA and Caroline Eskridge Campbell of Bon Air, VA; his siblings, Jean C. Campbell (Russ Hayden) of Shelburne, VT, James S. Campbell, Jr. (Melanie) of Amherst, VA, Leslie A. Campbell of Palmyra, VA and Clyde W. Campbell (Sylvia) of Powhatan, VA; his sisters-in-law, Martha G. Kolling (Chuck) of Newport News, VA and Sally G. Gordon (Norman) of Scottsdale, AZ.; and his nieces and nephews, Montana Baker (Aesop) of Hopewell, VA, David Hayden (Manpreet Arora) of Bothell, WA, Katy Hayden (Tim Daniska) of Colchester, VT, Will Gordon of Sea Island, GA and Ellen Gordon of New York City, NY..

A reception was held on Sunday, September 15th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Harbour Pointe Clubhouse (5710 Promontory Pointe Rd, Midlothian, VA 23112).
