He was predeceased by: his wife Betty M. Russell; and his son Chester 'Rusty Russell, Jr.. He is survived by: his son Sean Russell (Joby Palmer); his grandchildren, David Russell (Jenna), Lauren Perdue (Tommy), Sean Russell, Jr., John Michael Russell and Taylor Fransisco; and his great grandchildren, Logan, Annie Triana, Declan and Fiona Russell. He is also survived by many friends and family.
