With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Carolyn Opalka of Richmond, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Carolyn left this world on February 13, 2025 at the age of 78, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Josephine Strahl and William Strahl; and her siblings, Angela Lowe, Marianne Strahl and William Strahl.
She is survived by: her sister Debra Gabrielsen (Leonard) of Bay Shore, NY; her sons, James Opalka (Kristin) of Richmond, VA and Matthew Opalka of Columbia Falls, MT; and her grandchildren, Avery and Delsen. She is also survived by her husband, sons, and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Affinity Funeral Service – Richmond Chapel (2720 Enterprise Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23294). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Michael the Arc Angel Catholic Church.
