He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Roane Sr. and Irene Roane; and his siblings, William H. Roane Jr., Melvin Roane Sr., Father Ernest Roane, Corine Robinson, Helen Napier, Doris Robinson and Shirley Roane.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Smith Roane; his children, Angel J. Roane, Brian K. Roane, Emmanuel A. Roane, Daniel J. Roane, Tre'P. Roane and Dominique W. Bailey; his brother Ronald Roane (Shelia); his brother-in-law James L. Smith Jr. (Cynthia); and his nieces and nephews, James Bailey, Lenoa Roane, Curtis, Kimberly Robinson, Jaenon Roane, Jajsani Roane, Lakisha Smith and Elder Shavon Smith. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Thirty First Street Baptist Church (823 N 31st St, Richmond, VA 23223).
