With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shannon James Smith of Richlands, Virginia, who passed away on September 10, 2021 at the age of 55. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father James Curtis Smith. He is survived by: his wife Tammie Short Smith; his mother Margie Shook Smith of Richlands, VA; his daughters, Britney Ham (Nathan) of West Jefferson, NC, Savanna Childress (Wendell) of Richlands, VA and Miranda Selfe (Elijah) of Richlands, VA; his grandchildren, Bradley Childress, Elias Selfe and Tondolaya Childress; his siblings, Richard Smith (Beth) of Richlands, VA, Carolyn Michaels of Richlands, VA and Ryan Smith of Cedar Bluff, VA; and his nieces and nephews, Mechelle Plaster, Catherine Brewster (Morgan), Nathan Michaels and River Michaels.
