He was predeceased by: his father Buford Roscoe Rife; his son Matthew Aaron Rife; and his siblings, Beverly Bourne and Andrew "Andy" Rife. He is survived by: his mother Alice Rife (Daniels) of Richlands, VA; his wife Cynthia Bonita "Cindy" Rife (Price) of Vansant, VA; his stepmother Linda Rife (Beavers) of Danville, VA; his daughter Katy Blankenship (Dennis) of Vansant, VA; his grandchildren, Mason Rife of Abingdon, VA, Shelby Pedigo (Elliott) of Prater, VA, Sydnie Wimmer (Preston) of Whitewood, VA and Dustin Blankenship of Vansant, VA; his great grandchildren, Addie Pedigo and Elias Wimmer; and his brothers, James Rife of Mountain City, TN, Ricky Ray Rife (Lisa) of Haysi, VA, Eddie Rife of Richlands, VA and Buford Roscoe "Josh" Rife Jr. (Chaddi) of Danville, VA.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
