She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles R. Matherly and Myrtle Lee Vandyke Matherly; her siblings, Carolyn S. Matherly Hess (Mary Ellen Deel) and Teddy Mullins; and her grandparents, Flem, Louise Lewis Vandyke and Grace McCloud.
She is survived by: her husband Rodney Lester; her siblings, Eddie Matherly (Amy) of Lebanon and Patricia Jackson (Randy) of Vansant; her brother-in-law Tommy Deel of Vansant; her niece Misty Fletcher; her nephew Gary "Buttons" Hess; and her close friend Eva Fuller. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
