She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hess and Stella Hess. She is survived by: her husband Edward; her children, Christina Fields (Robert) and Martie Horn (Valerie); her grandchildren, Cassaundra Proffitt (Matt), Alexa Horn, Hanna Horn, Abby Horn and Sadie Horn; and her great grandchildren, Genevieve Proffitt and Mirabelle Proffitt. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Singleton Funeral and Cremation Service (1116 Cedar Valley Dr, Cedar Bluff, VA 24609). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
