He was predeceased by: his parent Leonard Lawson; his grandson Mitchell David Lawson; his siblings, Jo Nell, Lila, Ola, Frank, Charlie and Bill; and his siblings-in-law, Bernard and Loretta.
He is survived by: his parent Nora Vandyke Lawson; his children, Sharon Beth Lawson Kinser of Tazewell, VA, David Lee Lawson, Jr. (Maria) of Daniels, WV and Brian Michael Lawson (Mindy) of Charlotte, NC; his siblings, Sue Compton of Richlands, VA and L. C. Lawson of Trenton, NJ; and his grandchildren, Olivia Kinser, Hannah, Mallie and Grant Lawson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
