She was predeceased by: her son William Reese Hess, Jr.; her siblings, Marvin Vance, Lee Vance and Opal V. Crawford; and her grandparents, Samuel, Jane Baldwin Burke, William H. and Maggie Helton Vance.
She is survived by: her husband William R. Hess of Richlands, VA; her son John K. Hess of Richlands, VA; her significant other Thelma McGlothlin of Council, VA; her grandson Brady Hess of Richlands, VA; her daughter-in-law Lynnette Hess of Newport News, VA; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Vance of Yakima, WA, Jane Hurt of Richlands, VA, Helen Hess of Richlands, VA and Harry Hess (Peggy) of Richlands, VA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
