He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete Sprouse and Lucy Sprouse; his sister Linda; and his stepmother Jane Sprouse (Mama Jane). He is survived by: his sons, Scott (Eerin) and Jay (Ardis); his wife Betty Scott; his grandchildren, Ali, Nick, Luke, Henry and Hampton; his stepsiblings, Kelly Gentry and Bill Berryman; and his parents-in-law, Bill, Ann Mitchell, Bobby and Krista Jacobs. He is also survived by Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Fuqua School or the American Heart Association.
