With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Norman Eugene Oakes of Rice, Virginia, who passed away on January 13, 2021 at the age of 65. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Norman Eugene Oakes to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard G. Oakes and Estelle M. Oakes; and his sister Phyllis O. Martin of Rice. He is survived by: his wife Rita B. Oakes of Crewe; his siblings, June O. Thomas (Bill) of Richmond and James D. "Danny" Oakes (Gloria) of Rice; and his siblings-in-law, Mabel Oakes, Vicky Oakes, George Booker (Renee) and Bill Booker (Chris Wilson) of Crewe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
Due to COVID-19, a family visitation will not be held; however a viewing will be held at Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville on Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 1:00PM – 3:00PM. A graveside service will follow at 4:00PM at Trinity Memorial Gardens with COVID precautions observed.
