He was predeceased by: his wife Mary N. Burnette; his stepdaughter Shelia Burnette (Allen); and his siblings, Walter Burnette, Enda Woodson and Ruby Brooks.
He is survived by: his son Daniel J. Burnette; his stepdaughter Rosemary Scott (Cecil Elliott) of Rice; and his sister Gladys Jamerson of Farmville. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
