He was predeceased by: his wife Julia; and his parents, Anna Mae Bass Garnett and Benjamin Lockett Garnett. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Eichelberger of Christiansburg, Doug (Penny) of Virginia Beach, VA and Steve of Chesapeake; his grandson Douglas of Virginia Beach, VA; and his siblings, Marjorie King of Portsmouth, VA, Marie Kephart (Mike) of Herndon and Blair (Alice) of Richmond. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
