She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Allen Adkison and Nema Gertrude Adkison (McClure); her husband Bennie Ray Short; and her children, Patsy A. Mason and Benny Ray Short Jr..

She is survived by: her sibilings, Drema and Dottie. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
