It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elizabeth Burgoyne Knapp of Reston, Virginia, who passed away on January 13, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Burgoyne and Florence Burgoyne; and her sister Patricia Burgoyne Martinez. She is survived by: her husband Richard Knapp; her children, Peter Knapp of Leesburg and Heather Knapp Daugherty; her son-in-law Jon of Herndon, Virginia; her grandsons, Trent Knapp and Benjamin Daugherty (Ben); and her siblings, Janice Burgoyne Betancor, Stephanie Burgoyne (Terry Dunlap) of Cortez, Robert Burgoyne (Amee) of McLean and Richard Burgoyne (Hope) of Whareora. She is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made either to South Lakes High School (SLHS) to benefit students in need; or to the SLHS PTSA Food Pantry, which supports SLHS and the feeder middle and elementary schools. Donations to South Lakes High School can be made by mailing a check payable to South Lakes High School to: Principal, 11400 South Lakes Drive, Reston, VA 20191, with a notation that the check is a donation to the school in memory of Liz Knapp.
