Elaine Alice Dauphin Obituary

Elaine Dauphin was born in New York on September 7, 1934 and died in Reston, VA on December 28, 2023. She was 89 years old.

Elaine lived much of her life in the New York City area and Middletown PA, and her last four years in VA.

Elaine worked hard most of her life while raising two daughters on her own. She had several different careers, but she enjoyed the field of aviation most of all and excelled at CBS and Flight Safety out of La Guardia Airport in NY.

In 1974, Elaine married Charlie Dauphin. They were married 42 years before his passing in March of 2016. After Charlie died, Elaine lived in PA several years before moving closer to her daughter in VA.

After retiring, Elaine loved gardening. She belonged to a quilting group that made blankets for sick children in the hospital. Elaine served many "Meals on Wheels" to the elderly while in PA. She loved to walk and could often be seen taking her beloved dog, Mr. ChiChi out on leisurely strolls. Elaine was an animal lover, but dogs were her favorite, and she had many during her lifetime.

Elaine was a wonderful, loving mother, and the best grandmother ever! Elaine is survived by her daughter Donna Courain and her husband Dan of Herndon, VA; by her daughter Bonnie Thorp of Conesus, NY; by her grandson Daniel Courain and his wife Stephanie; by her granddaughter Elizabeth Thorp, and by her greatgranddaughter Hannah Courain.
