He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Owens; his granddaughter Lauren Owens; and his siblings, Bud Owens and Louise Diggs. He is survived by: his brother Archie Owens; his children, Timmy Rowe (Brenda), Alice Stewart (Larry) and Bruce Owens (Kim); his grandchildren, Brian Rowe (Amanda), Jason Rowe (Stephanie), Scott Stewart (Courtney), Caroline Emerson (Ethan) and Mitch Owens; and his great grandchildren, Brian Keith, McKenzie, Kylee, Steven Wilson, Brayden and Brynlee.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mathews Baptist Church, P.O. Box 8, Hudgins, Virginia 23076.
