He was predeceased by: his parents, Norris Edward Wirt and Bertie Snow Underwood; his former wife Nancy Mae Vines; and his siblings, James, William, Ronald and Kathleen.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Elizabeth Smith; his children, Sandra Campbell (Roger) of New Mexico, Karen Foecking (Michael) of Maryland, Gary Wirt (Diana) of Missouri and Sean Wirt (Amy) of North Carolina; and his brother Bobby. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
