With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Roy Bernard Shortt of Raven, Virginia, born in Tazewell, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 2, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Garner Shortt and Edgar Josie Webb Shortt; his brother Aulbert Shortt; and his grandson Joshua Shortt. He is survived by: his wife Linda Ruth Shortt; his children, Deborah Deskins (Randy), Barney Shortt (Janet), Joseph "Joe" Shortt and John Shortt (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Makaila Shortt, Lindsay Keene (Corry), Jesse Deskins (Heather) and Isaac Shortt; his great grandchildren, Alivia Keene, Ava Keene, Claire Keene, Everly Deskins and Cade Coleman; and his sisters, Avis Shortt and Norma Asher (Morris). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Singleton Funeral and Cremation Service (1116 Cedar Valley Dr, Cedar Bluff, VA 24609). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
