He is survived by: his wife Vickie Hicks Hurt of Raven, VA; his children, Melissa Sanders (Donnie) of Paintlick, VA, Cindy Shumate of Bristol, TN and Eric Hurt of Paintlick, VA; his granddaughters, Nicole Whited, Amy Sturgill (Dwayne) and Megan Smith; and his great grandchildren, Baleigh Sturgill, Easton Smith, Bransyn Smith, Ryker Sturgill, Ava Reese Smith, Aven Breedlove and Lucas Sturgill.
