He is survived by: his wife Marcella Dye Shortt of Raven, VA; his children, Nicholas Alan Shortt of Raven, VA and Rachel Burks (Erik) of Richlands, VA; his siblings, Patsy McGlothlin (Darnell) of Honaker, VA, Sue Newberry (Rondal) of Doran, VA, Norma Keen (John) of Cedar Bluff, VA, Leisa Shelor (Dave) of Blacksburg, VA, Darrell Shortt (Judy) of Raven, VA and Ricky Shortt (Karen) of Raven, VA; his sister-in-law Sylvia Shortt; and his granddaughters, Addie Burks and Ellie Burks of Richlands, VA.. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, and a host of family friends.
