It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dolly Mae Wicks of Raven, Virginia, who passed away on September 10, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Andy Wicks and Frances Louise Wicks; her brothers, Otis Wicks and Roy Cecil Wicks; and her sisters-in-law, Gaynell, Sharon and Shelby Wicks.

She is survived by: her daughter Patricia Barrett (Jesse Barrett); her grandchildren, Jerry Shortt (Ashley), Kim Shortt (Todd Elswick) and Drayton Barrett; her great grandchildren, Brenley, Avery, Aubrey, Bradly, Aleaha, James, Kitra and Artik; and her siblings, Connie Wicks, Virginia Sparks (Mel), Delmar Wicks, Smiley Wicks, Betty Goodman and Edgar Wicks (Tonya). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and special children.

“Dolly was someone so special she will not be forgotten. Aunt Dolly always had a smile and a hug to share. No matter how long it had been since your last visit it seemed like just yesterday when you were around her. She always made you feel welcome. I can never remember a time when visiting Dolly that the laughter didn't pour. She was funny, caring and kind. My thougts and prayers are with everyone. Heaven just received another angel.
