She was predeceased by: her parents, Peery W. Horton and Lucile Horton (Salyer); and her son Jeff Shortridge (Tammy). She is survived by: her husband Milfred Roberts; her children, Lee Messick (Vickie), Kelly Messick (Amy), Elaine Brown (Tony) and Heather Casey (Brian); her brother Ronnie Horton (Betty); her daughter Christy; her sister Nancy Hess (Doug); her daughter Nikki; her stepsons, Keith (Lydia) and Joseph Roberts (Brooke); her grandchildren, Londyn, Anastasia (Josh), Paul, Taylor (Adon), Amber, Phoebe, Sophie, Kelleigh, Isabel and Lauryn; and her great grandchildren, Ezra (Taylor) and Solomon (Anastasia). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers Carol would have preferred her memory being honored with donations to Swords Creek Community Baptist Church, 3305 Kents Ridge Road, Swords Creek VA 24649.
