He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Harrison May and Anna Smith May Dotson; his wife Laura Jean Stacy May; and his brothers, Robert May, Melvin May and Edward Matney.
He is survived by: his children, Shelia Lynn Matney (Harold) of Raven, VA, Tammy Jo Grace of Bristol, TN and Timothy Dean May of St. Paul, VA.; his grandchildren, Jimmy Harold Matney, Skyler Arwood, Barbara Harris and Johnathan Blankenship; and his great grandchild Xander Harold Matney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
