He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Morrison Earhart and Mildred Earhart (Campbell); his children, Michael Timothy Earhart, Jr. (Lauren Derr) and Carrie Michelle Earhart; his brothers, David Houston Earhart and Robert Luther; his sister-in-law Katherine Earhart; his sister Melanie Jayne Earhart; his grandchildren, Michael Anthony Earhart, Halie Ray Earhart, Marshall Cole Earhart, Emily Jayden Lynn and Jacob Ryan Lynn; his niece Alisha Earhart; his brother Steven Earhart; and his nephew Daniel Earhart. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
