He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin L. Garrison, Sr. and Hazel Shifflett Garrison; and his siblings, Harvey E. Garrison, Sherman L. Garrison and Mary Ann Garrison Clore.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Colvin Garrison; his children, Kimberley G. White (Taylor) of Madison, Elizabeth G. Racer (Kevin) of Madison and Melvin L. Garrison, III (Lee); his wife Tina of Fredericksburg; his sister Doris G. Holley (Harold) of Hinton, WV.; his grandchildren, Kendall W. Robinson (Eric), Andrew G. Racer (Ashley), Abbie W. Graves (Calvin), Carter C. Garrison and Allie B. Garrison; his great grandchildren, Teagan Robinson, Hadlee Robinson and Rylee Kulenguski; his niece Tammy Dyer; and his nephew Mike Garrison. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family friends.
