He is survived by: his children, Wendy (Mike Bishop), Tina Ellison of Roanoke, Debbie (Randy Bales), Jason B. Batten of Radford, John A. Batten, Jr. of Christiansburg and Kenneth R. Stoots, Jr. of Belspring. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
