He is survived by: his wife Connie Murphy Thornton; his children, Allen Thornton, Jr. (Shannon), Monica Colene Thornton Rich (John King) and Radford; his grandchildren, Rachael Thornton, Sterling Thornton, Austin Rich and Garrett Rich (Kaylie); and his niece April Thornton.
