He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Gilmer and Helen Gilmer; and his siblings, Marvin, Billy, Wayne, Charlie Mack Gilmer, George Franklin, Doris Gilmer, Mary Rickman, Patricia Graham, Margaret Linkous and Linda Gilmer.
He is survived by: his significant other Sandra Sanchez; his son Fred A. Gilmer (Margie G.); his grandchildren, Blair, Ben and Allie Gilmer; his sisters, Beulah G. (James R. Reed), Norma (Dale Bragg) and Shelba (Kenneth Baker); and his close friends, Gilbert Maxwell, Hugh Durham, Pete, Ed McPeak and Johnny Hawley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
