He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leo Lester Shafer and Geneva Miller Shafer of Quicksburg; his wife Judy K. Mason; his children, Jonathan Shafer (Angela Ann) of Timberville, Lori Fredericks (Lowell) of Virginia Beach and Sara Shafer (Paul Stover) of Timberville; and his brothers, Daniel Shafer of Quicksburg, Jonathan and Walter Shafer.
Rev. Ernest Halterman and Charles Miller will conduct a graveside service 2:00 P. M. Monday at the Mt. Jackson Cemetery in Mt. Jackson, where per CDC guidelines, masks and social distancing are required.
