It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Merlyn Marie Smith (Purcellville, Virginia), born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 15, 2019, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Linnè Olson and Bertha Olson; and her siblings, Curtis Olson and Vivian Gleason. She is survived by: her husband George R. "Bobby" Smith of Purcellville; her sister Marilyn White of Clemmons, NC; her son Dale Smith; her daughter-in-law Kristina Smith of Waterford; her daughter Cathy Smith of Purcellville; her grandchildren, Heather Smith (Matt Presgrave) of Round Hill, Matthew Smith of Berryville, Kristin Stapanowich (Andrew Stapanowich) of Leesburg and Steven Thompson of McLean; and her great grandchild Harper Presgrave of Round Hill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
