She was predeceased by: her father Charles Newton; her stepfather Harper; her brother-in-law Elwood Mason; and her mother Irma DeShazo Newton. She is survived by: her husband Dallas Bernard Grimes; her children, Ellen and Charles (Cathy); her grandchildren, Victoria and Allie; her son Christopher (Nancy); her grandchildren, Shane and Cleo; her son Jeffrey; and her sister Jane Mason.
