He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Clare Dougherty of Pulaski; and his daughter Elizabeth Garter. He is survived by: his daughters, Jayne Mitchell of Lake Oswego, Susan Wysor of Troutdale and Anne Heck of Pulaski.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for New River Community College in Dublin VA to the scholarship fund in the name of Ernest and Beth Garter.

“I heard today about 'Bill' Wohlford's passing. He was a fighter who refused to willingly accept his natural decline, but I suppose his advancing age of 93 years finally caught up with him. I recall him fondly as my former father-in-law who had amusing & charming eccentricities that reminded me of my own. I'd like to express my earnest condolences to his surviving daughters and grandchildren as they cope with their loss. He was a truly unique individual & I will always fondly remember him.”
