He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Belle Calfee McGrady and Walter Ira McGrady, Sr.; his wife Ruby Francis Largen McGrady; his brother Frank Howard McGrady; and his grandson Walter "Wally" Ira McGrady, IV.
He is survived by: his children, Walter Ira "Mack" McGrady (Deborah) of Draper, Susan Holcomb (Mike) of Pulaski and Michele "Steven" Walker of Cornelius, NC.; his grandchildren, Tiffany Payne (Shannon), Ashley Denise McGrady, Kristen Mitchell Selby (James), Kasey Holcomb, Jonathan Holcomb, Meredith McGrady and Chloe Walker; and his great grandchildren, Harley Heldreth, Melissa Ann Selby and James Michael Payne.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Jordan's Chapel United Methodist Church (5095 Alum Spring Rd, Pulaski, VA 24301). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Feed My Lambs Backpack Program P.O. Box 1626 Pulaski, Virginia 24301.
