He was predeceased by: his parents, Belva Bessie Nester Hughes and Charlie D. Hughes; and his brother Guy Dyre Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Eula Mae Meredith Hughes of Pulaski; his nephew James Edward "Eddie" Hughes (Tammy) of Pulaski; and his goddaughter Amy M. Hopkins of Pulaski.
