He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Saunders Fowlkes and Clarence Waltin Fowlkes; his wife Stella Kemp Fowlkes; and his siblings, Curtis, Robert, Warren, Helen Manuel, Mildred Shelton, Dolly Chrisley and Eva Kreidel.
He is survived by: his sons, Larry Fowlkes of Pulaski, Rickey Fowlkes of Radford, Stanley C. Fowlkes (Alesa) of Christiansburg and Randy Fowlkes of Pulaski; his stepson Eddie Jones of Roanoke; and his brother William Fowlkes of Wytheville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
