He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Collins Akers; his children, Lloyd Milton Akers (Jennifer), Sheri Diane Akers and Dublin; his stepsons, Jeffrey Wayne Roberson, Johnny Michael Roberson, Pulaski, Robert Haven Carr (Melissa) and Danville; his grandchildren, Michael Lee Roberson, Robert Zachary Carr, Lauren Elizabeth Akers, Arianna Nicole Akers and Jordan Paige Carr; and his siblings, John Lucian Aker (Draper), Otis Neal Aker (Wytheville), Rudolph Michael Aker (Wytheville), Timothy Bruce Aker (Wytheville) and Ethel Buckhout.
