He was predeceased by: his parents, George McConnell and Vivian Bowman McConnell. He is survived by: his wife Joyce White McConnell of Pulaski; his son Brad McConnell (Kate); his granddaughter Libby McConnell of Radford; his daughter Carrie McConnell of Salem; his siblings, Terry McConnell Brady (Pat) of Richmond and John P. McConnell (Rebekah) of Raleigh, N. C.; his sister-in-law Esther White Hider (Steve) of Hendersonville; his stepdaughter Amanda Annunziata (Gene); his stepgrandsons, Matthew and Jacob of Apex; his stepdaughter Kelly Trimyer (Brandon); his stepgrandchildren, Maddie, Ben and Ada of Cary; and the mother of his children Peggy Taylor of Radford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
