She was predeceased by: her father Arthur "Art" James Scheff; and her husband Edward O. "Eddie" King Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Edward O. "Chip" King III (Janie) and Corey S. King, Jr. (Lynn Rice); her grandchildren, Corey S. "Cody" King and Victoria Alexis "Lexi" King; and her stepgrandson Travis Cecil of Pulaski.

After her children were grown, she worked for the C.E. Richardson Benevolent Foundation for 32 years until her retirement at the age 82.
