She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph David Carpenter and Pauline Carpenter Bissette; her granddaughter Kristen Grizzle; and her brother Rev. Ronald Wayne Carpenter. She is survived by: her sons, Hubert Sanford "Sandy" Grizzle III and Joseph Brandon Grizzle; her grandchildren, Selina Grizzle Prince, Joseph Grizzle and Jaxson Grizzle; her former husband Hubert Sanford Grizzle II; and her sister-in-law Nan Hale Carpenter.
In remembrance of Sheila, the family requests that donations be made to the New Kent County Animal Shelter, reflecting her lifelong dedication to helping others and her love for animals.
