We are sad to announce that on December 24, 2023, at the age of 85, Rodney Vernon Fields of Providence Forge, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Tonie Fields and Josie Fay Fields (Cook); his son Bradley; his sister Gail Morris (Fields); his nephews, Rick Morris, Robert Lawless, Jeff Lawless and Greg Lawless; and his niece Sharon Laski (Morris).

He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane "Janie"; his daughters, Rebecca "Becki" Wright (Jim), Mary Adams (Jeff) and Julie Wright (Daniel); his grandchildren, Collin Adams, Marryn Adams, Janie Wright, Brooke Andrzejewski (Steve), Brandie Andrzejewski (Zachary) and Brandon Wright; his great grandchild Ava Andrzejewski; his sister Ardath Lawless (Robert); and his nieces and nephews, Tony Lawless (Donna), Timothy Lawless (Barbara), Robin Reed and Connie Grosh (Tom).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity.

“So sad to learn of Rod's passing today in the church bulletin. I enjoyed getting to know him thru church activities and from the many conversations we had when I would walk by on Old Forge Road and see him working in the yard. I hadn't seen him since last summer but will always remember him fondly. I offer my condolences to the family and especially to Janie who has lost her husband and son in 2023..
